Yu Wang is an artist working across performance, experimental video, and installation. Her practice explores themes of family, emotion, memory, and Mongolian culture, drawing deeply from her personal experience as a member of a Mongolian family. Through her work, she investigates how cultural traditions, family relationships, and everyday rituals shape individual and collective identities.

Video serves as an important medium for documenting family rituals and preserving intimate moments that reflect the complexities of cultural inheritance. Alongside video, Wang uses performance and installation to create immersive sensory environments that engage audiences on both emotional and physical levels. By combining personal narratives with broader cultural references, she invites viewers to enter the emotional landscape of Mongolian life and experience its values, histories, and traditions from an insider’s perspective.
