My work is about building “stages”. Through reference to personal memory, as well as to a great extent art history, I stage situations of psychological tension, isolation, loss of power or luxury. The works seek a balance between peak and decadence, often using symbolic replacements and formal juxtapositions. In this work, I am interested in the human situation as spectacle and, through that, in the spectacle as an object of art and vice versa.
