Claire Greenshaw
Claire Greenshaw’s work aims to disrupt or destabilize the status of banal, frequently discarded objects in an attempt to question common social placements of value. The works tend to use humour and strategies of appropriation to manipulate layers of meaning and provoke vague narratives around various cultural detritus encountered in everyday life.
Claire Greenshaw received her BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art in Halifax, Canada in 2002 and her MFA from the Glasgow School of Art in 2009. She has exhibited throughout Canada, and has participated in exhibitions in the US, UK and Sweden.
