Richard Domenico Ehlert

Richard Domenico Ehlert is a visual artist who uses drawing, printmaking, and photography to articulate authenticity, beauty, and harmony.

As a printmaker he works with intaglio and relief to create a vast body of editions, monotypes, and various experiments in-between.

Domenico Ehlert’s demonstrates his versatility of printmaking practices and utilises a visual language entirely his own.

Additionally, his practice has recently expanded to the preservation of thousands of dried flowers. These specimens are taken from his routine walks; discarded from stores, and found alongside pavement, gardens, river banks, and parks alike, acting as artefacts of the ephemeral moments of nature that mark the seasonal passage of time in an urban setting. Such preserved specimens act as a visual research tool for developing his imagery, but also act as a tool for assemblage being incorporated into his artworks.

His practice take care and pride in embracing technical skill and precision. This involves slowing down the fast pace of contemporary life and embracing time for process.
