Junhao Li

I am a multidisciplinary artist specializing in photography, video, AI art, and performance. My work explores the transformation of perspectives, using a blend of surreal and real visual languages to examine social structures, consumer culture, and individual experiences. I am drawn to ordinary, everyday moments, using seemingly mundane entry points to construct narratives with deeper critical meaning.

Through my practice, I continuously challenge the boundaries between perception and reality, seeking new possibilities at the intersection of video, AI-generated art, and performance.

I hope to create a visual experience that is somewhere between reality and fantasy, allowing the viewer to feel alienated and uneasy in a familiar scene.This body of work explores consumerism, social class disparity and the situation of low-income groups in the contemporary economic system.I chose to symbolise the everyday space of the supermarket as it is both a place of provision for basic necessities and a meeting point of wealth and deprivation in the capitalist system.Supermarket shelves display a wide range of goods, symbolising abundance and freedom of choice, but in reality, prices, economic pressures and social structures prevent many people from actually owning these items.How are low-income groups marginalised in the consumer system?Is the "sufficiency" of modern society merely a visual illusion?
