Albertina Tevajärvi

Albertina Tevajärvi (FI) is an interdisciplinary artist based in the Nordic countries. Upcoming works will be exhibited in SAVVALA (LV) open-air art space in August 2025 and EKA gallery, Tallinn (EE), October 2025. She creates sculptural pieces (instruments?) that grow out of embodied experiences between human and non-human entities (technological, natural, hybrid). Their psychoacoustic properties inspire as do the movements and images that materials evoke. Scientific and technological discoveries get dipped in mythological / mycological soil. Some oral, some written, some wordless. Her pieces exist in multisensory, transient, kinetic, durational, non-hierarchical, and mythopoetic ecosystems. A strong emphasis on process, finding intuitive correlations, creating in collaboration, and discovery from improvisation is present throughout her practice.
