Ayla Dmyterko
Ayla Dmyterko (she/her) is a Ukrainian-Canadian artist based in Glasgow raised on Treaty 4, the territories of the nêhiyawak (Cree), Anihšināpēk (Saulteaux), Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, as well as the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation. Upon completing her Master of Fine Art at the Glasgow School of Art (2020), she was awarded the Graduate Fellowship through the Glasgow Sculpture Studios. Prior to studying in the UK, she completed a BFA in Painting at Concordia University and a BEd in Visual Art and Dance Education at the University of Regina. She has exhibited her work internationally at VITRINE, Basel & London; Zalucky Contemporary, Toronto; Alchemy Film Festival, Hawick; Mourning School, Stockholm; CCA Glasgow; Lunchtime Gallery, Glasgow; Art Gallery of Regina; Hague Gallery, Regina; aCinema, Milwaukee; Regina Performing Arts Centre; MacKenzie Art Gallery, Regina; Projet Pangée, Montréal & Gallery Aux Vues, Montréal. She looks forward to forthcoming residency at the Inshriach Both Residency in the Cairngorms, group exhibitions at APT Gallery, London; ACT Arts Centre, Maple Ridge and a solo exhibition and residency with Projet Pangée, Montréal in 2023.
