Supapong Laodheerasiri

Supapong Laodheerasiri was born in Chiang Rai, Thailand in 1985. He is an artist, and he was a special instructor at King Mongkutʼs Institute of Technology Landkrabang, Bangkok, Thailand between 2013 and 2016. He graduated with Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting (First Class Honors) from Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2009, and he graduated with Master of Fine Art from The Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, United Kingdom in 2018.

Supapong Laodheerasiri applies images in a conceptual manner, using a variety of media and techniques, while emphasizing the presentation and expression of his concepts. The media employed are such as painting, drawing, and installation art. Several his artworks explore the questions about perceptions and interpretations of objects and texts; for example, when positions, functions or contexts of objects and texts are shifted or moved; their definitions become different or ambiguous. The shifts of them cause the alternative choices of evaluation or understanding, with new issues arising. Furthermore, he is also interested in topics about times. Some of his artworks are about the relationships between times and lives, which reflect to topics about the variation, the mutability, the impermanence, the absence, and the nothingness. Including, the questioning to the understanding about times. In addition, some of his artworks are related with the spaces; the artworks become a part of the spaces, and the spaces also become a part of the artworks. Moreover, the processes of the artworks also indicate the relations between times and spaces.
