Statement
My work draws upon my interpretation of events covered by the mass media. I work intensely on observing in particular, but not limited to, the use of the photographic image within large-scale events that attract international media coverage. Through the process of appropriating materials from the Internet, TV, newspaper and anything in between, all these have become my medium. To analyze the transmission and reception of information that we access or forced upon, my practice undergoes an operation of unpicking information. This methodology reflects how my experience on encountering certain events may expand to differ or connect with other people. Questioning the contingencies in everyday life is central to my practice. Therefore, my subject matter is also chosen by its connectedness with our human condition to uncertainty. In the form of painting, photography, sculpture and projected installation, my medium is selected to best translate such uncertainty.
