The physicality of two-dimensional media associated with the rectangular boundary and flat surface, reinforce the sense of autonomy that excludes the viewers and surroundings. This can turn the experience of viewing into, more than anything, a form of intellectual activity of ‘translating’ the meaning. My aim is to exploit the physicality of two-dimensional media and interrupt its autonomous nature by producing image-based work, the contents of which are influenced by the viewing conditions – in order to allow the act of looking to become a perceptive experience rather than a decoding one.
