Jenny Hogarth
b. 1979, Glasgow
Jenny Hogarth lives in Edinburgh and has been collaborating with Kim Coleman since 2003.
Kim Coleman and Jenny Hogarth’s video and performance works, play with the choreographed and the non-choreographed. Exploiting the potential to create simple and enchanting illusions with video, their installations loop footage to divulge and liberate the charms of liminal processes, objects and subjects. Employing ambient experiences and visual subterfuge, their works toy delicately with the subtle gradations of influence we might steal over our environment.
Recent commissioned solo exhibitions include Glare for S1 Artspace, Sheffield (2009), Act Natural for Picture This, Bristol (2009) and the Museum of Bath at Work, Bath (2008), Nought to Sixty (Kim Coleman & Jenny Hogarth with Boyle Family), ICA, London (2008) and Timebank, Associates, London (2007). They participated in the group exhibition Associates in New York, Phillips du Pury, New York (2008) and have recently been commissioned to produce one of the Frieze Projects at the Frieze Art Fair 2009.
