God is keen on dice play. Possibility is a person’s desire. Choice is who we are.
I choose trivial images which do not function well in certain contexts in our everyday life. I paint these images as intended markers for my personal story. However, they are still small, scattered, and neutral.
Small representational images, which appear isolated from any precise context in my paintings, give the possibility of various interpretations to each individual viewer, almost like a flashback. These images, which are juxtaposed and accumulated, function as peels of acrylic colour on the surface and expose the background by being located in it. The picture plane creates both a pictorial illusion and non-identical space.
