Heike Kabisch’s multi-layered sculptures talk about isolation, power, frustration and interdependency, but always with a strong sense of humour. The sweetness of the works is seductive, evoking a warm feeling in the viewer, but ultimately resulting in an attack, in a disturbing way. On close observation, you find grotesque figures, caught between fighting and resignation, unwilling to interact, forming another world in their mysterious, distressed and intangible way.
