Elke Finkenauer

My work explores cognitive spaces of transition and simultaneity. It is a response to a situation – a method of observing, and an attempt to understand and reconcile, various behaviours and points of view. My current work, Good with Numbers, presents a confluence of critical and complicit perspectives from within a corporate office environment. Reflecting on the structures and idiosyncrasies of such an environment the work considers the potential for people to create space to be themselves, and the formation of communities and allegiances which ensure their survival and preserve an unwritten order.
