James Ó hAodha

James Ó hAodha [O-Hay] (b. 1985, Wexford) is an interdisciplinary artist previously based in Dublin. Graduating in Sculpture from NCAD in 2009, Ó hAodha has continued to develop a socially engaged practice, working for the most part beyond the bounds of the exhibition space. Over the course of the MFA, Ó hAodha has pursued ongoing interests in performance and video work, exploring the physical agency of the moving-image.

Ó hAodha has recently completed a community engagement project with Dublin’s Culture Connects – currently screening at Hugh Lane Gallery and on long-term exhibit at Pembroke Library, Dublin throughout 2017. He has been involved in projects with The Lab, Dublin; Dublin City Council; Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray; The Joinery, Dublin; The Drawing Project, Dun Laoghaire; Fringe Festival, Dublin; Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff; Irish Museum of Contemporary Art; and Tulca, Galway amongst others.

Ó hAodha was awarded the 2015 Dublin City Council Visual Art Bursary and was previously shortlisted for the 2013 Wexford Emerging Visual Artist Award.
