Don’t cry over spilt milk.

The milk is spilt, it’s already happened, it’s too late – but it’s easy to clean up. Sealed milk bottles, safely packed together, contain the past: these paintings collect and order the past. They suggest at interiors in domestic spaces, and exteriors using bricks - deliberately obscuring, revealing and hiding things that have gone wrong. Thoughtful spaces reflect inward and outward, where rain or possibly tears become a force of energy or the gentle presence of a face. Outlines of heads are faces in dialogue, or in profile – lightly reflecting. An upturned milk bottle tries to let go of the past, to spill out – but it won’t, it is supressed and defying gravity.
